Eurofase Rosini Chandelier

Eurofase Lighting has chosen their Rosini collection as the December fixture of the month and Rosini holds true to be very significant in design and inspiration.

This whole collection was inspired and motivated by the music composed by Yoshino Rosini, a 19th Century Italian composer, most well known for his operatic masterpiece William Tell and his nod to 14th Century Switzerland. According to eurofaselighting.com, “the designer set out to create a fixture with strong, classic European lines, imagining the days of heroes on horseback, fortresses and castles.”

The Eurofase Rosini Collection features an array of very regal chandeliers and wall sconces all twice finished in sleek gunmetal, setting these fixtures apart from others of their kind. The imposing simplicity of these fixtures is beautiful and will add a subtle elegance to any space. Rosini glistens with elongated pear-cut smoked crystals and bobesches as well as a silhouette that features more embellishments and ornamentation to add that surprising and distinguished touch.

Although this collection is in Eurofase’s Classics Collection, it is truly a transitional piece as well. According to eurfaselighting.com, “designers are able to feature it in an array of decors, classic or modern.” Rosini can be added to almost any setting within your home, from foyer to hallway or dining room as well as great room or living room.

Minka Aire Artemis Fan

This year a range of new and unique lighting design trends are popping up all around the industry adding that special touch to your home’s beautiful interior in both the lighting and interior décor and accessories categories.

One of our favorites right now is the mixing of various textures within your space, like glossy and matte; the combination of soft and hard creates a wonderful accord and an infusion of diverse palettes.

Cyan Slate Stool

Adding Texture is yet another component of interior design that becomes a key element, making a space interesting and inviting. You can add textural depth to your interior by combining items of different materials within your design scheme.
Consider bringing a reflective mix of high gloss elements and compliment that with matte or glossy accessories.

Uttermost High Gloss Lamp

Take this fresh and very modern Minka Aire ceiling fan from the Artemis collection for example; it has an incredibly polished surface with a distinct profile that is finished in a high gloss coating. Complement that texture with tweed furniture, rugs or throws as well as more matte or toned hues like this Cyan Design round matte clay slate stool to add some depth.

Along with those consistencies within your space, feel free to add your own touches of gloss and matte with a vase like these high gloss olive green Cyan vases or Uttermost gloss black table lamp.

Mixing various textures within your space adds more composition and height to your space. Get creative and you choose which arrangements and structures speak to you and you can find your own style and texture to your home.

Troy Pompeii Collection

Wall sconces have a huge impact on a space regardless of their size – they can be extremely long which will accentuate the height of a room; tall, which are typically used in spaces with higher ceilings or lots of natural light and highlight the openness of a space; and shorter sconces are great for spaces with lower ceilings or in areas over a counter or piece of furniture. The shorter sconces can be used in places like the bathrooms, over a credenza or over a night stand.

Sonneman Pannelo Collection

Wall sconces are typically used for accent lighting, whether they are washing a wall or highlighting an object. They can also be used for task lighting when placed over a night stand or behind a couch. Both their style and the type of light they emit make a big difference with the ambiance of a space and overall appearance.

A tall, simple rod iron sconce with a modern shade creates a rustic but modern feel like the Troy Lighting Pompeii wall sconce; this sconce, like many collections has a design for either type of space, whether it requires a tall lengthy piece or a shorter, smaller accent. Simple, more modern sconces can create an artistic accent like Sonneman’s Pannelo collection or the Mackintosh wall sconces from Hubbardton Forge.

The light emitted from a sconce can be more of a wall washing accent in various directions or can create a varying, soft ambient light for a section of the room. No matter the size, style or type of light your sconce produces there is no denying that they create a considerable impact on the feel and atmosphere of a space.

ET2 Chic Collection

This month ET2 is shining on their Chic collection as the Spotlight of the Month and it is no wonder why, as the Chic collection definitely is a distinct family of lighting.

The ET2 Chic collection features a modern twist on a classic silhouette; this collection brings together a stylish combination of “candle-like xenon lights shrouded in conical clear glass shades.” According to et2online.com, “Each of the fluid chrome curves enhances the organic simplicity of the sleek and stylish design as they flow into Polished Chrome adjustable stems.”

Although clearly a contemporary design, this striking collection sticks to some of its traditional roots as each fixture within Chic has a truly classic shape and form with modern touches. The glistening full shaped base flows out naturally giving off the impression of motion and evolves into the more modern glass shades that reflect a beautiful light when illuminated.

ET2’s Chic collection features wall sconces and chandeliers; choose from the 5 light, 9 light or exaggerated 16 light chandeliers. The additional arms add depth to the already uniquely designed collection. Dorian Webb Designer

Award-winning designer Dorian Webb and New York based Crystorama Lighting have created a very strong partnership over the years and together have produced new collections in lighting known as Dorian Webb for Crystorama.

According to crystorama.com, Webb began her career designing hand-crafted necklaces bracelets and earrings inspired by a trip she made to Venice, Italy; each piece of jewelry incorporated Venetian glass.

Webb’s passion for designing jewelry soon turned into a passion for lighting design. She designed lighting privately and became very popular among high-end clientele. According to a biography written about Webb, Dorian’s fixtures incorporated an “array of delicate foliage, dangling drops and draping beads.”

Along with the Venetian glass, Webb also incorporates semi-precious stones such as citrine, aquamarine, cherry quartz and freshwater pearls.

Crystorama Fiore Collection

Since partnering with Crystorama, Webb has created two collections of more transitional lighting pieces known as Palla and Fiore. According to crystorama.com, Palla (Italian for “sphere”) and Fiore were both inspired by pieces from her jewelry line.

“[The fixtures] feature neutral-toned diaphanous disks that float in an antique gold wrought iron frame,” Crystorama stated. “Inset irregular prisms add unexpected sparkle to the earth tones.”

The Palla collection was inspired by a specific bracelet in Webb’s jewelry collection while her Fiore collection for Crystorama was inspired by her signature Venetian glass collection of chandeliers she had previously designed.

Webb continues to design lighting for Crystorama; the first two lighting collections will be available exclusively through Crystorama.

schonbek-lighting-collections

Schonbek Worldwide Lighting has announced that they have made an exciting transformation to the company as a result of their strong partnership with the Swarovski Group. In October 2007, Schonbek was acquired by Swarovski, and since then their association and rapport have been significant for both companies.

In a statement made by David White, VP of Global Sales and Marketing, and John Simms, VP of Global Operations, Schonbek Worldwide Lighting will now be known as “Swarovski Lighting.” The two stated in an August 6 news announcement that since the partnership with Swarovski, there has been many adjustments to push Schonbek in a positive direction; including allocating the Schonbek Plattsburgh, NY location as the global headquarters and making significant changes to the core of both companies.

“As a result of these changes, and the evolution of our business strategy, our official business name will change to Swarovski Lighting,” they stated in the release. “Swarovski Lighting will continue to encompass two very distinct premium consumer lighting brands, Swarovski and Schonbek.”

Both White and Simms say the combination, Swarovski being respected and admired for its “contemporary aesthetic” and Schonbek well-regarded for its “classic, timeless styling,” will not change, but it will allow for better marketing strategies in the future; they reassure all their customers and business partners that the rich history of Schonbek Lighting will not change.

“While the overall company name will change to Swarovski Lighting, the Schonbek brand name and the 142 year legacy lives on in all of the existing as well as new products we will continue to innovate, and market under this well established brand.”
